Know The Basics Before You Board

Before you get ready to kickstart your 2 night Bahamas cruise with all of the fun and relaxation you can imagine, here is some basic information before you board.

Basic Information Before You Board: Use of Cellular Phones

Our guests may enjoy the convenience of using their cell phones while on board the cruise ship. In order to use your phone, you may first have to activate the phone’s roaming service by calling your cell phone service provider. The network gets activated when the ship is at sea, out of reach from land, and your regular cellular provider. When the service becomes available, your cellular phone will display either MCP or 901 12 or indicate digital roaming. This service is charged via your cell phone service provider at international roaming rates. Cell phone coverage onboard the Bahamas Celebration is provided by Maritime Communications Partners (MCP).

What’s Included?

Board accommodations, ocean transportation, all meals (except if choosing gourmet dining), and onboard entertainment. If you were charged government taxes and fees, your passenger taxes and fuel/security surcharge have been pre-paid.

Not Included

Gratuities, transportation to and from the ship, parking, shore excursions, bar beverages, soft drinks, phone calls, photographs, and items of a personal nature that are not specifically stated.

A fuel/security surcharge will be added to your onboard account ONLY if you have not paid the government taxes and fees at the time of booking.

Will I need a passport or visa?

All U.S. citizens must have a valid proof of citizenship—a passport, a certified birth certificate, or a certified naturalization certificate. Resident aliens must travel with their “Green Card” alien registration cards. Guests from other countries should check with their travel agent or the appropriate consulate to determine the necessary travel documentation. All guests over 16 years old must carry a picture ID (state or provincial driver’s license) with a picture or a government photo ID card.
Please note that passengers arriving at the pier without valid documentation will not be allowed to board the vessel and will not be entitled to any refund of the fare or compensation.

What Should I Pack?

The dress on the ship is casual. Beachwear and shorts are acceptable for daytime activities on board as well as Bahamas shore excursions. Dinner attire is resort casual. We suggest that guests be slightly more formal for the gala dinner on the second night. Shorts are not permitted in the dining room at dinner.

What About Personal Belongings?

The Cruise Line is not responsible for theft or loss, so be sure all baggage and personal belongings are properly insured and labeled with the owner’s name, address, ship’s name, cabin number, and sailing date. Suitcases should be securely locked. Please personally carry all medications, jewelry, fragile items, valuables, and important documents on and off the ship. Any luggage left at the pier will be forwarded at the guest’s expense.

What About Special Needs?

If you have a specific need or a medical condition that requires special attention, you must advise us when making your reservation and confirm the information to us in writing. Special dietary needs can be accommodated if the passenger makes the request at the time of booking. Passengers requiring a wheelchair onboard must make independent arrangements.

What is the onboard alcohol policy?

Guests may not bring alcohol onboard prior to embarkation, and any alcohol found in a guest’s possession is subject to confiscation. The drinking age on the ship is 21 in US waters and 18 at sea and on Grand Bahama Island, and a valid ID is required. The cruise line has the right to refuse sales and/or service to anyone.

Will baby-sitting be available?

A program of supervised children’s activities is offered on the ship for children ages 3–12. A detailed schedule of events is provided onboard. Private babysitting is not available.

What about tipping?

For your convenience, gratuities are charged to your onboard charge card at $20 per person. This covers all food and cabin services provided to you by your cabin steward, waiter, busboy, and maitre d’. Other staff members may be tipped as services are rendered. Please note that a 15% service charge will be included on all bar, wine, and spa & salon tabs. This is standard in the cruise industry.

Where should we park?

When you arrive at either the Port of Palm Beach, Port of Miami, or Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port, you will be met by our parking attendants. All parking at the port is fast, efficient, and courteous. The cost is approximately $20 per night (prices may vary depending on the cruise port). The parking company accepts cash and Visa or Master Card credit cards for payment. There are no other public parking options nearby.

  • Port of Miami: $22
  • Port of Palm Beach: $22 (Valet parking only)
  • Port Everglades: $20
